You are not an Agency…

Labor is where your expertise goes to die for three years. My agency built funnels and automation systems for the biggest names in marketing today since then have transformed that agency into a hyper profitable training and consulting business. While everyone is out there and talking about scale like it’s some sort of destination, we’ll be asking the real question, how do you transform your business into a more scalable model using the knowledge, skills, and expertise that you already have? What’s going on guys? So if you are a digital agency owner, you probably have clients where you have done for your projects and your offer done for your services. Maybe you have a service menu, maybe you have a specific niche that you work in, but the primary method for you making money is you doing something for your clients. You actually being the, as I call it, hands to keyboard labor for your clients. And I’m here to tell you that you’re not an agency owner. You’re an expert and you just chose to convey that expertise in the form of the traditional agency model, which I don’t blame you for because it’s extremely common as someone who became good at a skill, maybe building websites or doing Facebook ads or whatever. The fastest way and the smartest way for you to get your first few clients was to offer to do that for other people.

That’s how most agencies get started. We have a skill where we’re a technician. It’s what the classic book, the E myth is really all about. You’re a technician and you do technical work, so you do do you go do that technical work for other people and you go add more clients and more clients and more clients. The problem is like most agencies in the traditional agency model is where you keep adding. Those clients usually come with adding more people, more expenses, payroll, et cetera, that a lot of agency owners today don’t actually want. It’s actually why they left whatever full-time job they had in the first place to start their business. They wanted the freedom, they wanted fewer headaches, they wanted more control. And what I’m here to tell you is that you’re not an agency owner. You are an expert. You got hired for what was up here and you were just able to translate that into a deliverable that just so happened to be through labor at the time.

But that doesn’t mean that’s the way it has to be forever. In fact, if you want to grow and if you want to have the freedom to uh, well you know, work on what you want to be able to go pick up your kids from school early, if they get sick or go check out their soccer game and not feel like you’re leaving clients hanging, then you need to learn how to convey that expertise in other ways other than the traditional model, which is, you know, the, the hands to keyboard done for you Labour. It’s that term you’ve probably heard before, the glorified freelancer. Cause right now you might have a handful of clients and you can’t really add another one unless you work nights or weekends. And you don’t want to do that because then you obviously make sacrifices with, with family or friends or the things that matter most to you outside of work.

But that’s the only way you can increase your revenue. And when you really look down at the numbers, you’re not actually making what you want to be making yet. If that’s the case for you, you need to learn how to convey your expertise in other ways other than being in an agency like coaching or consulting or training and workshops, whatever. I don’t even care which one you choose. But there is a right and a wrong way to add on those different ways to convey your expertise so that it compliments your done for your services and that you can actually start adding new clients more consistently while not adding more labor. Because each and every time you add a new client, if you equally add as much, uh, add, add labor to it, it’s going to be harder to grow and hit the numbers that you ultimately want.
Again, done for you as a really great way to get started, which is how we all got started, but it’s really difficult to grow and scale. If you want a lean mean team that operates like a machine then mean to rhyme on that. But the point here is you’re not an agency and you don’t have to be an agency. You are an expert. You originally got hired for what was up here. You knew how to do something and the current method of delivery is you, you know, doing it, but you could also teach it. You could do it with people, you could train others on how to do it. This opens up your potential client avatar to someone who maybe has the internal resources and doesn’t, doesn’t need you to do it for them, but they want to know how you do it so they can do it internally.

You start adding those, those packages and those offerings to your agency, developing what we call the hybrid agency, you’re going to become way more scalable and be able to generate new clients each and every month, new revenue each and every month without increasing your hours or you know, the amount of labor that you have to do. So I’m here to tell you one that just because the traditional agency model is what you’re in right now.

And it might be all that you’ve ever known. You’re not an agency, you’re an expert. You get to choose how you convey that expertise. And if you want more freedom and you want more scalability and you want things to run more like a well-oiled machine, it’s time to start packaging up that expertise and conveying that expertise into more predictable, more profitable business models that will allow you to hit, hit your goals and have the freedom that you’re looking for.
