I’ve been in the agency world for close to 20 years. Started client-side at Cabela’s managing agency partners. Then agency-side working with Pepsi, Unilever, AT&T, the NY Jets. Then I built my own agency, System.ly, where we did marketing automation and sales funnels for people like Dan Martell, John Lee Dumas, Jasmine Star, and NerdFitness.

And like a lot of agency owners, I built exactly what I was trying to escape. Profitable, sure. But completely dependent on me. More clients meant more complexity, more team, more of me in the middle of everything.

So I changed the model.

Today we do over $1M in revenue with 40%+ margins and a lean team of 4 full-time plus a few contractors. I take Fridays off. I get my kids to school every day. I go mountain biking whenever I want. And I only work with clients I actually like.

I’m as proud of the freedom as I am of the revenue. That’s what I help my consulting clients build — a business where the model works for your life, not against it.
